Has Congress gone completely mad?!
        Green Balloons
for the T.E.A. (Taxed Enough Already) Parties
We the People at GreenhouseMadness.org  strongly oppose Cap and Trade, or any Carbon Tax.

So we've found a way you can illustrate the madness of taxing CO2, at your event.

They're bright green balloons, printed with bold messages, including:

This balloon contains CO2, which trees need to live, and Congress wants to tax !

Our energy bills will be INFLATED with a Carbon Tax (Cap & Trade), just by an act of Congress !
Call your Senators at (202) 224-3121 and say No  to Cap & Trade !

We haven’t been hit with a new tax on tea.  But with these balloons, we can accurately echo the original Boston Tea Party, where American Patriots defiantly and loudly dumped the stuff which carried a new, outrageous tax.

This year, thanks to Cap & Trade, the “stuff” is CO2.

Imagine an event where balloons are given to everyone to be inflated with their own breath (which contains CO2). Then from the podium, the speaker says  "All together now:  HEY CONGRESS !  Here's what we think of your new tax !"  Then the crowd lets the air (with CO2)  sputter noisily out of their balloons in the general direction of Washington DC !

With a simple technique, air escaping from the neck of a balloon can be very loud, lasting over 1 minute !

It sure beats those quiet little teabags...and can be mailed to your elected representative just as easily.

Truth About Green, a Washington DC-area grassroots group, is having a Green Tea Party with over 500 of these balloons on Sept. 26, 2009 !

    1.  OK, so Cap and Trade is not exactly a tax in the strict sense of the word.  But like a tax, the compliance requirements would increase costs for virtually all U.S. industries.

The added costs will be factored into the price of all goods and services (like electricity) involving fuels that emit CO2.  And since we don't have solar-powered trucks, trains, airplanes or ships, transportation of all goods currently involves fuel usage.  When fuel costs increase, the price of everything will increase.

Customers (that's us) will get charged higher prices for everything under Cap and Trade.  It would act like a tax, but with a different name !

   2.  OK, so human breath is not 100% CO2.  Nobody here said it was.   It's approximately 4% CO2.

We simply can't print such long-winded explanations on a 12-inch balloon...there just isn't enough room.

So please forgive us for taking these artistic liberties with the balloons.

We just pray that you notice the government taking your liberties as well.....and demand that they stop.
