Our elected representatives know that traditional taxes are very unpopular.  So they devised Cap and Trade.  

They tell us it's not a tax, it's justice against the evil factories and utility companies.....supposedly to force them to go "green".  Meanwhile, the federal government squeezes cash out of them.

Like a tax, Cap and Trade would increase costs for virtually all companies and their customers.  That's virtually everybody !  Even companies that don't exceed the federal limits for CO2 emissions will be forced to spend money to plan their operations and futures around this scheme.

What if a company had an opportunity to expand their business?  Their new plans could run into Cap and Trade limits, so they may decide it's not worth the growth.  No growth, no added income, no added workers, no volume discounts for customers.

Such limits cost money, whether in federal penalties or in lost opportunities.
